The aim of the B.Ed. in Primary Education is to train new teachers to a high standard so that they may in turn teach their pupils to a high standard and positively contribute to their school and communities. The aim is further to train new teachers in such large numbers that they make a significant impact on meeting the targets of access and quality of Primary Education outlined in MIP-1 (National Planning Commission, 2021b) and NESIP (Government of Malawi, 2020).

The aim of the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Primary Education (Upgrading) is to upgrade existing teachers to a high standard so that they may in turn teach their pupils to a high standard and positively contribute to their schools and communities. The aim is further to train existing teachers in such large numbers that they make a significant impact on meeting the targets of access and quality of Primary Education outlined in MIP-1 (National Planning Commission, 2021b) and NESIP (Government of Malawi, 2020).

Middle Grades Educators walk alongside adolescents during some of the most formative years of their life. They are eager to connect with their students and help them develop socially and emotionally in grades 6 through 8, collaborating with fellow teachers to create meaningful and integrated learning experiences for their students. Because the middle grades education field is so student-focused, our educational courses give our students a firm foundation from which to understand their students and to develop relational skills and learning strategies that will positively impact their students for years to come.

This programme aims to equip students with various competencies and knowledge to enable them to teach, facilitate learning and enhance the holistic development of pupils with different learning needs at this crucial level of their education, and provide students with research skills that will allow them to develop new ideas, initiatives and pedagogical practices and attitudes that are essential for the educational workplace.

L'élève qui se spécialise dans l'enseignement primaire a des options de carrière dans une variété de contextes: écoles maternelles publiques et privées, agences, programmes communautaires, garderies, écoles publiques et entreprises privées. Avec une formation avancée, des postes de supervision et d'administration sont disponibles. Les élèves qui prévoient d'enseigner de la prématernelle à la 5e année (P-5) doivent s'inscrire à ce programme pour obtenir la certification.

Le baccalauréat ès arts en enseignement élémentaire expose les étudiants à l’art de l’enseignement et aux sciences de l’éducation. Ce diplôme favorise l'enseignement de certaines matières, la connaissance de la manière d'être un enseignant efficace et la compréhension de l'esprit et des comportements des apprenants du primaire.
