The main purpose of the program is to train students on cutting-edge research skills in Cognitive Neurorehabilitation and with capabilities of coordinating relevant research in clinical settings. The aim of the program is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire advanced theoretical knowledge, a deeper understanding of current research and advanced skills in research methods in cognitive rehabilitation of neurological patients. The program also aims to prepare students for postgraduate studies.

This is a cross-disciplinary programme with a global perspective. It provides students with evidence-based knowledge and a toolkit for conducting research, policy-making and fieldwork. The faculty has substantial experience from a range of disciplinary and geographical contexts and the diversity of the student body contributes to a stimulating learning environment. As one student expressed it: “The class and teaching are a microcosm of the global context we’ll face in work-life". Alumni are currently employed at a variety of institutions such as national health ministries, UNICEF, the WHO and various NGOs. In addition, many are researchers at top-ranked universities.

This programme connects fundamental research with its applications and integrates genetics, gene technology, cell biology, molecular biology and molecular biotechnology. The common basis is within molecular genetics, which is the discipline that explains how the information in the genes is expressed and how it can give rise to various traits in an organism. Emphasis is put on genetic mechanisms underlying disease, genetic mapping, molecular genetic techniques and diagnostic methods. Training in entrepreneurship and processes of innovation and commercialisation in the molecular biotechnology field provides a fundamental base for careers in biotechnology and the pharmaceutical industry. A majority of the graduated students continue with PhD studies, often within the biomedical research field.

The Master of Science in Food Process Engineering prepares students in all aspects relating to food processing, including the engineering principles of food, food process design, food biotechnology, and statistical quality process control. Graduates can accept research positions within the food processing industry or continue their studies in the pursuit of a Ph.D. in a food-related discipline.

Master of Epidemiology will be capable of developing and updating science, technology an/or arts by knowing and understanding research approach, scientific principles along with its applying skills.
